Why prices are hard to compare
A plan that includes 30 calls and one that includes 150 are not the same product at different prices. Compare the cost per included call, then check what counts as a call, what happens after the quota, whether minutes are metered, and whether fax, texting and extra staff seats cost extra.

- FrontDeskClinic: Starter: $99/mo for 50 calls a month (about $1.98 per included call); Pro: $249/mo for 150 calls a month (about $1.66 per included call); Ultra: $499/mo for 350 calls a month (about $1.43 per included call).
- Smith.ai AI Receptionist (https://smith.ai/ai-receptionist), the AI-first self-serve plans: Free at $0 for 25 calls a month and $3.00 per call after that; Pro: $150/month at 75 calls (about $2.00 per call; the page offers 150 and 300 calls at 10% and 17% off). Enterprise: $500/month at 300 calls (about $1.67 per call), with 500 and 1,000+ call tiers and a talk-to-sales option.
- Smith.ai also sells human receptionist plans (https://smith.ai/pricing) at $300/month for 30 calls, $810/month for 90 and $2,100/month for 300. That is a live-agent service, a different product from software-only AI, so it is not directly comparable to the plans above.
- Weave (https://www.getweave.com/pricing/): starting from $199 per month, per its pricing page.
What the comparison leaves out
Per-call arithmetic ignores quality, which depends on setup, and ignores the human judgment a live receptionist brings. It also ignores what your plan bundles. Ask each vendor whether the price includes a fax line, texting, voicemail transcription, unlimited staff users, EMR integration and a BAA.
